Canelo Alvarez will be stepping into the ring

For the third time since December, Canelo Alvarez will be stepping into the ring, this time to take on Billy Joe Saunders. The unification bout will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Last time in the ring, Alvarez was able to decisively beat Avni Yildirim on Feb. 27, with Yildirim tapping out after the third round. Before that, he defeated Callum Smith in a unanimous decision. That had been his first fight since beating Sergey Kovalev in Nov. 2019.

As for Saunders, he’s has held world championships in two different weight classes and the WBO super-middleweight title, which he has held since 2019.

The fight between the two boxers will start at approximately 11 p.m. ET on Saturday with an undercard beginning at 8 p.m. ET. The entire event will be available through DAZN, which owns exclusive rights to broadcast the fight in the United States.
