Tonight’s Bellator 257 event is headlined by a light heavyweight rematch between current champion Vadim Nemkov and former title holder Phil Davis.
Nemkov (12-2 MMA) and Davis (22-5 MMA) originally collided at Bellator 209 in November of 2018, with the Russian emerging victorious by way of split decision.
Since his first encounter with ‘Mr. Wonderful’, Vadim Nemkov has gone on to earn back-to-backs stoppage wins over Rafael Carvalho and Ryan Bader, the latter of which earned him the promotions 205-pound title.
Meanwhile, Phil Davis will enter tonight’s Bellator 257 main event on a three-fight winning streak. Since being outpointed by Nemkov in 2018, ‘Mr. Wonderful’ has picked up stoppage wins over Liam McGeary and Karl Albrektsson, and most recently had his hand raised against Lyoto Machida.
In addition to the light heavyweight title being on the line, the Bellator 257 main event winner will also secure a spot in the semi-finals of the promotions 205-pound tournament.
Bellator 257 is co-headlined by another light heavyweight quarterfinal fight featuring Corey Anderson taking on Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov.
Anderson (14-5 MMA), a former TUF winner, made his Bellator debut this past November where he scored a second round TKO victory over veteran Melvin Manhoef. That win was preceded by a knockout loss to reigning UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz.
Also featured on tonight’s Bellator 257 fight card is a fun catchweight fight between bitter rivals Paul Daley and Sabah Homasi.
Daley (42-17-2 MMA) will enter the contest on a two-fight winning streak, this after earning victories over Erick Silva and Saad Awad in his most recent appearances. ‘Semtex’ has earned 31 of his 42 career victories by way of knockout / TKO.
Meanwhile Sabah Homasi (15-8 MMA) enters Bellator 257 sporting a four-fight winning streak, his latest being a stunning flying knee knockout of Bobby Voelker at Bellator 250.

Boxing legend Evander Holyfield will return to the ring on June 5 when he takes on Kevin McBride in a Triller Fight Club boxing match.
Triller announced the Holyfield vs. McBride will face off at a pay-per-view event set for June 5 at a location and venue that has yet to be disclosed. Both Holyfield and McBride have not stepped into the squared circle since 2011, so both men will be returning after decade-long layoffs when they go at each other in June. Also on the card is a matchup between boxing superstar Teófimo López and George Kambosos Jr. Triller announced the fights in a joint press release on Friday from Holyfield and from Triller promoter Ryan Kavanaugh. It’s worth noting that the Holyfield vs. McBride fight will be scheduled for six rounds.
“Our continued reinvention of boxing as four-quadrant entertainment now adds one of the biggest names in the history of boxing, Evander Holyfield, against one of the best opponents, Kevin McBride,” Kavanaugh said. “He joins a lineup featuring some of the most elite fighters who are on their way up the ranks and world-class musical entertainment as we present a multifaceted experience for fans of every interest in four action-packed and exciting pay per view hours.”
“I am proud to be able to join Triller Fight Club as they are exactly what our industry needed. They have reimagined the sport of boxing in a very exciting new way,” Holyfield said. “Their combination of young talent, music, entertainment and special matchups is setting a new standard for our sport, and my return to the ring for this fight is one that everyone, myself included, will enjoy, and I am proud to help take this to the next level.”
Rumors were that Evander Holyfield would fight Mike Tyson next, but instead, he will take on McBride, who ironically defeated Tyson in 2005 in what was “Iron Mike”‘s last pro fight.
UFC welterweight contender Belal Muhammad reacted after his upcoming fight against Demian Maia was recently announced for UFC 263.
Muhammad vs. Maia was announced this weekend to take place on UFC 263, which is set for June 12. For Muhammad, it’s the next best thing after he wasn’t given a rematch with Leon Edwards after their fight ended in a No Contest due to an eye poke at a recent UFC Vegas event. Muhammad was stumping for the rematch given that the fight ended in a controversial fashion, but the promotion instead decided to book Edwards against Nate Diaz. That left Muhammad temporarily without an opponent, but Maia answered the call.
Onward and upward Have to beat a legend to be a legend …Muhammad vs Maia June 12 #inshallah #onamission #legend
Muhammad is coming into this fight on a five-fight unbeaten streak. Before the No Contest with Edwards, he had won four straight fights over Dhiego Lima, Lyman Good, Takashi Sato, and Curtis Millender. Overall, Muhammad is 8-1, 1 NC over his last 10 fights. He is one of the most underrated welterweights in the UFC and has earned this fight with a big name like Maia. If Muhammad can win this fight, he will get one step closer to the top-5.
As for Maia, he really needs to get a win in this fight after getting knocked out by Gilbert Burns last year. That was a rough loss for Maia, who at 43 years old is among the oldest fighters in the UFC right now. Maia is one of the most respected fighters in the sport and if he can go out there and take care of Muhammad, he’ll remain in title contention at 170.
Do you think Belal Muhammad has what it takes to beat veteran Demian Maia at UFC 263?
